Role Overview:
As a LEGO Club Delivery Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of LEGO-based activities to children, young people and families. This position requires excellent attention to detail to manage and maintain LEGO sets, the ability to adhere to strict processes, and creativity to contribute STEM-based ideas and tasks. Your efforts will help foster creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in participants and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
LEGO Kit Management
- Ensure all LEGO kits are accounted for, organised, and well-maintained.
- Conduct thorough inventory checks before and after each session to prevent loss of parts.
- Follow strict procedures for handling, storing, and transporting LEGO materials.
Activity Delivery
- Assist in setting up and dismantling LEGO activity spaces, ensuring an engaging environment.
- Support participants during sessions, helping them with tasks and troubleshooting challenges.
- Promote the educational and creative aspects of STEM through LEGO-based challenges.
Creative Input
- Collaborate with the LEGO Club coordinator to design and deliver innovative STEM-focused activities.
- Suggest new ideas for builds, challenges, and problem-solving tasks to enhance the experience.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all participants.
- Report any issues or concerns related to equipment or participant welfare promptly.
Key Skills and Qualities:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously track and manage LEGO parts to ensure sets remain intact.
- Process-Oriented: Comfortable following established protocols for inventory and activity delivery.
- Creativity: Strong imagination and enthusiasm for developing STEM-based LEGO activities.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other volunteers and engage effectively with participants.
- Reliability: Consistent attendance and commitment to the role, ensuring smooth operations.
Time Commitment:
- Pop-up LEGO Clubs currently take place during the school holidays. Sessions typically last between 90-120 minutes, with demand for two sessions.
- Time required for dismantling and resetting the room between sessions. Minimum commitment of 5-6 hours on the scheduled day.
