Summary
Based in the Bell Library in Perth, alongside volunteers from other charities, you will be the face of CHAS in the local community selling cards to the public.Detailed description
You will fulfil the weekly Tuesday afternoon shift allocated to CHAS, selling cards to the general public, in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Our share of the money raised will help us to deliver vital services to children with a life-shortening condition and to their families.
What activities will I be involved in?
- Engaging with shoppers
- Taking cash and card payments
- Keeping sales area tidy and secure
- Re-stocking cards
- Representing CHAS
What skills and abilities will I need to have?
- Friendly and outgoing
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to work as a small team
- Able to talk briefly about the services CHAS provides and to signpost people to our website for further information.
How much time should I offer?
Your weekly shift will last from 1.15-5pm every Tuesday, from the end of October until mid-December (exact date to be confirmed)
What ongoing learning/support/guidance will I receive?
It's important to us that you feel happy, safe and confident in your role. As a CHAS volunteer you will be invited to complete a short core learning package that is tailored to your role.
We are always developing new opportunities for volunteers to learn and offer a range of options for volunteers.
You will also be asked to read and adhere to the Bell library Health & Safety policy.

We will pay your out of pocket expenses in line with the CHAS volunteer expenses policy.
