Summary
We’re looking for a volunteer cook to prepare and cook a variety of light meals including breakfast, sandwiches and soup.Detailed description
What’s involved?
Preparation and cooking of menu items and following established recipes
General kitchen and café duties including serving, washing up, setting up, and clearing down as required
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed
·Routinely checks inventory levels and orders new stocks when needed
What skills and experience do I need?
ü Experience as a cook in a similar role within a kitchen environment,
ü Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices, ideally within a café or food service setting.
About Acorn café
Providing training opportunities for people who are speakers of other languages to improve their English and gain hospitality experience at the same time.
The language students who volunteer at the cafe are also attending classes at ESOL Perth.
Acorn is a C.I.C.- community interest company which means all proceeds are directed to
ESOL language school.
The café is open 7 days, Monday to Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 12-4pm
